We leverage existing resources rather than requiring more servers, memory, or specialized storage such as Solid State Drives or in-memory databases.Top How does RNA scale?RNA scales linearly as nodes are added to the memory pool. How are RNA products deployed in the data center?RNA deployment requires no changes to your applications, operating system, or storage sub-systems. Software components are distributed using existing software deployment tools and/or processes. Additionally a 1U appliance is installed to provide initial cache capacity and provide cache management capabilities. Initial deployments, typically fewer than 32 nodes, can be completed and demonstrating value within a day. For more information see RNA Deployment. Does RNA provide failover capability and redundancy?Yes. RNA products provide high-availability features. In the unlikely event of a failure, cache operation is not interrupted, nor is any data lost because the redundant appliance kicks in until the primary can be restored. The product is generally deployed with redundant appliances and software components as required to meet availability requirements.Top What data center environments will RNA support?RNA products easily integrate and deploy into any business-aligned IT environment. It provides multi-transport, multi-processor support. Currently, Linux OS variants are supported. RNA products are uniquely qualified to deliver unmatched performance in existing or new, high performance computing environments such as grid computing, cloud computing and server virtualization.Top How is RNA’s solution delivered?RNA software comes pre-loaded on 1U COTS (commercial off the shelf) appliance, which is configured for your environment. The appliance is optional, and simplifies implementation. It comes with a 32GB memory block that establishes the initial instance of the memory pool. How much networked memory capacity can RNA products support?There is no logical limit to the size of the pool but we currently support up to 10TB. Does RNA work with InfiniBand, GbE, 10GbE?Yes. RNA is fabric agnostic and delivers performance benefits on all fabrics. It is optimized for high speed fabrics such as InfiniBand. Performance is influenced by environment, application, etc. What kind of interface is available to manage the RNAcache?Both command line interface and GUI-based (web) management console are available to manage the memory pool. The CLI provides the ability to integrate pool management with existing enterprise management solutions and the web-based UI provides an operational dashboard and configuration wizard to help organizations get up and running quickly.Top Does RNA work with WAN?Yes. RNA works in conjunction with LAN and WAN, but the benefits will be seen on a LAN within a single data center or cluster.Top
